Silence I Can Break
01:55
|
|||
This silence I can break with my guitar.
The lovely, lovely sound she makes
Masks a feeling I can’t shake
That in my empty room
I’ve been waiting up at night for you and
There is nothing I can do
This chilly air is warmer with a drink.
And lonely, lonely is this night
So why’ve I put up such a fight?
Now since I’ve been alone
I’ve been waiting up at night for you and
Wishing you were waiting too.
Now when we meet for breakfast I am lost for words.
I just want to hear your voice and
Hear you make a choice.
Be it me or him
I will pray the lord our souls to keep,
And either way I’ll get some sleep.
If you’ve got to go and break my heart
So it goes I’ll love again,
And I’ll still be your friend.
So I’d love to try
Laying down to sleep at night with you
And trusting love to see us through.

From Whence I Departed
03:58
|
|||
It took time to figure out that
I have only just begun to see.
It could be no other way that
Getting there is where I’ll always be.
I would never want to find myself
Right back from whence I departed.
It takes time to get there -
To all the places left on earth to go.
But until I’m on my death bed
I will never know all that I’ll know.
I’m sure I never want to find my self
Right back from whence I departed.

As For Where You Are
03:52
|
|||
Gone away as you are
Someplace new, someplace new
Are you feeling bright being there?
Is your sun shining through?
I know that all who meet you there
Will feel you burn, feel you burn
And there waits a love unsown
Everywhere that you turn.
Here I am, you know where.
You can see, you can see.
You can watch if you choose
As I sleep - please feel free.
And I’ll see you in my dreams
As you are, for you are
In my mind someplace new
Oh so near, and oh so far.
So it seems that where you are
Finds you well, finds you well.
And your thoughts come to me
Little now, I can tell.
But mama don’t get me wrong
That’s alright, that’s fine with me.
But on the back of my mind
There you’ll stay and there you’ll be.

Bright Blue Letters
04:19
|
|||
Written on the wall in front of me
In bright blue letters, it says,
"The truth will set you free."
But my sense is cloudy when I'm feeling low
And there's no light for truth to show.
Truth as a capital I can't spell it
Only as a lower-case can I tell it.
I say it not to say that it's not out there
When it shines, it shines, and I can barely bare my joy.
But search for answers you'll find questions.
Tell me what you're thinking if you speak the language,
Say it right and I just might get it.
Won't you hit me where I'm hollow -
It's deep down and if you play it like you mean it
I just might follow you.
Bring me to the music
Set me in a circle
Let me lay my guard down
Get me with my people.
Melody my love, the siren at the center
Generous and juicy,
Give me just a little bit more
Just a little bit more
A little bit more.
Sing me a song I can believe.
Sing me a song I can believe.

Hellbound
03:16
|
|||
Well, I've got me a cousin, Cheryl
She's got a soul as pure as solid gold
And I've got me an Uncle, Joel
My god, he's pious and he's thick
But bless him, Lord, he can't be sold.
While I'm all for loving your family
I'm not sure that mine's got the right idea
When they call and they get righteous
Saying, "Ain't y'all folks ain't got no fear?"
But ain't nobody gonna tell me
That my mama is going to hell
Ain't nobody gonna tell me
That my daddy ain't one damn fine man
We're alright by me!
Well, I got me no faith in Jesus
Though I'm sure he was a damn fine man
And I got me no sunday-schoolin'
Though I carry that golden rule in my hand.
And ain't nobody gonna tell me
That my mama is going to hell
And ain't nobody gonna tell me
That my daddy ain't one damn fine man
We're alright by me!

In My New Home
01:42
|
|||
I cried for you today though you're alright
And I'm alright here in my new home.
I woke up thinking of you
I woke up dancing to our sound.
Oh, my, how the time goes -
Soon we'll be getting down
Soon we'll be getting down
Soon we'll be getting down.
Oh, I feel your strength and I know your sorrow.
I know I'll see you in a million more tomorrows.
I know I'm safe in your heart
And you're safe in mine.

Stoking Wind
04:40
|
|||
Something needs to change.
I see you there in all of your grace.
I’ve caught a glimpse but never rested in such peace.
So something needs to change.
Something is burning.
I smell smoke - its growing think now.
I thought I’d put it out
But hot coals keep on catching fire.
The stoking wind is blowing.
The archetype is showing itself.
Maybe I could let it burn.
Now clouds are forming.
In this forest full of dead wood
Lighting strikes it burns and re-grows
Into something beautiful.
The stoking wind is blowing
The archetype’s exposed and catching fire.
The stoking wind is blowing.
The archetype is glowing now
I do believe I’ll let it burn.

One Voice Wails
02:52
|
|||
Clear your mind and be right now.
Raise your voice and sing with me
You know how
You know how
Raise your voice sing with me now.
Good god, that's the sound of music.
My god, that's the love thats in our hearts.
One voice wails a lonely tune, a lonely tune.
One voice wails a lonely tune.
Well, I'd sure love to sing with you
To wail with you, to wail with you
I'd sure love to wail with you.
Good god, don't you love a harmony?
My god, won't you lay one down with me?
I'd love you the best I can, the best I can.
I'd love you the best I can.
But you know I'm a troubled man, a troubled man
A troubled man
You know I'm a troubled man.
Good god, this life is full of sorrow.
My god, I come and go in waves.
My god, I've got the best intentions
To let love flow from me all my days.
Clear your mind and be right now, be right now.

Song for Kellie
04:59
|
|||
I know myself to need love eternal to
Help me care for my sometimes fragile soul.
Send me kindly words when she's gone away
I'll need words of love on that rainy day.
Soon a broken heart I'll need to mend.
Only love can heal us in the end.
Think of times now gone when you're feeling low
People pass on but never really go.
I'm so grateful for your warmth and your grace,
Dark brown knowing eyes and your smiling face.
Time will fade a body by and by.
But once good love is born it cannot die.
I'm so grateful for your warmth and your grace,
Dark brown knowing eyes and your smiling face.
